A journey through my second brain...

It's funny how your phone ends up being almost like a second brain. A weird concept i know but if you think about it when you one day look through your phone and it's endless amount of pictures and notes you find that it brings back all kinds of memories. Just as a second brain would.

Here was what was in my second brain.

On the 15th til the 18th of October I had emceed Shojikiya's Japanese Food Fair at One Utama. the event included games and Japanese cultural performances suchas Wadaiko Drum performance, Soran Bushi folk dance and Rice Harvest Dance.

On the same day itself was the Indie Youth Festival 09, where they had a cyber games tournament specifically for the game of Counter Strike.

And much to my surprise a good friend of mine was hosting the Indie Gig for the Indie Youth Festival 09 none other than Rina Omar.

And I manage to catch performances by Dichi Michi...

and one of my favorite bands and close friends of mine, Bittersweet...

Loved how they came with neon colored sweaters and look very much like the beetles. very cool.

Last weekend on the 20th and 21st, I was in Celcom Territory! Well basically I was emceeing for their booth they had set up during the Sepang Super GT. I was substituting for my housemate C.loco as he had another event outside of the Klang Valley.

Johnson's Baby Powder Jom Main! Family Day

Just finished emcee-ing an event at dataran petaling Jaya, for johnson's baby powder jom main! Family day. Now just waiting for my manager to pick me up as i lent my house mate my car.

My legs are aching and my voice is parched but it was all Good fun! There were performances by KLDC A.K.A kuala Lumpur drum corp. A drumming group just like the movie 'drumline'. There were martial arts demonstrations, lots of cute kids in the coloring competition.

Tomorrow is another busy day, as in the morning i'm going for a charity walk-a-thon at the same place, in support of creating awareness for osteoperosis. Hope i spelt that one right. Will blog more later. Smell ya later:)

BHPetrol Orange Run

I emceed BHP Petrol's 4th Orange Run. This took place last Sunday, 12th of April, one day after my Cleo Bachelor Speed Date. You know, i didn't sleep at all the night before the event.

On April 11th, i woke up at 7:30am to get ready for my Speed Date at Island Bistro at Pavilion. The event ended at 5pm. I went back for dinner and i was in the studio already prepping for my show on Sunday.

I went back at 4:30am in the morning of April 12th, slept for perhaps a good 15 minutes, got up, took a quick shower, and head off to the Piazza The Curve at 5:30 in the morning.

I was required to be there at 6am till 10am.

So there i was at the wee hours shortly after Subuh prayers, thinking that this is going to be a long day. There were a number of marathon runners there, and the events people were busy getting the booths ready. I took in the still beauty of twilight, the short time after dawn and before the sun hits the horizon.

I wondered when was the last time i was up at this hour to marvel at the beauty. A beauty we often take for granted. It is such a good time for reflection, i thought to myself.

Here are a few good shots of The Curve at twilight.

At seven o clock i see a flock of marathon runners and was amazed at the public response for the marathon. Wow, despite the constant media attention on how unhealthy Malaysian food is, Malaysians do have a healthier lifestyle than we ever give ourselves credit for. Seriously, i never expected the turn out to be this good.

The last two photos were only for the first category, not the entire event.

Off goes the runners, in comes the FOOD STALLS!!! And it was all for free.

Seven-UP Revive Isotonic Drink, Nasi Lemak, Kopi and Teh Panas, peanuts, Kampai Non-Alcoholic Fruit Juice (which is really good!) , and eNergy Isotonic Drink. Click photo to enlarge. Photos from Moe Nasrul's personal collection.

Cereal, Nescafe, Yeo's H-Two-O, Dutch Lady, Mamee, Corntos. Click photos to enlarge. Photos are from Moe Nasrul's personal collection.

I was really having fun at the event. And of course, all good things must come to an end.

Me emceeing and announcing the winners.

The most amazing thing about this event was I'm actually moved to sign myself up for the next marathon run :)

Kudos to BHP Petrol for organizing yet another round of successful run. Thanks to the F&B sponsors for making this event more fantastic!!!!

Hey guys,

This is a backdated entry, but i had to wait for Aush to upload the photos to his Facebook. Thanks Aush!

M.A.C (the cosmetics, not Apple *lol*) approached me once again to be the emcee for their event. I emceed M.A.C FAFI launch in Mid Valley last year. I guessed they like me. That, or i'm charging too low. *Just kidding*

I can now look back at all these photos with good memories, but having to emcee the event for five days in a row, is agonizing. Don't get me wrong. I love what i do, but waking up at four a.m. to prep for my news and traffic report for the Pagi Show, doing air checks post-Pagi Show, meetings, and voice over recordings then rush off to emcee the event in Mid Valley for five days in a row can be tiring :).

Anyways, a little bit of info about the product and event. M.A.C relentlessly pursuit to combine their exciting new color with another popular icon. First, it was M.A.C and Barbie, then it was FAFI. Now, M.A.C cosmetics teamed up with Hello Kitty. The result? Hello Kitty Kouture. There's two range of MAC Hello Kitty products-- sweet and innocent Hello Kitty Mild and the out on the prowl Hello Kitty Wild.

Mild Kitty and Wild Kitty

Anyways, the launch (March 4th) was graced by local celebrities, designers, and VIPs. From March 5th to March 8th, complimentary make-up session were conducted by M.A.C make up artists, mini private function especially for Cleo and Cosmopolitan readers, appearances by the Mild and Wild Kitty, and M.A.C Hello Kitty balloons were given away to the public.

Can you imagine the power-that-be of Hello Kitty? Almost all of the Hello Kitty merchandise were sold out by the end of day two. Hundreds would queue up for the balloons. If they couldn't get a balloon today, they would come back and try their luck the next day. Children were getting squashed by inconsiderate adults *tsk tsk*. What's worst then adults squashing kids just to get a balloon, right? Smelling a lawsuit coming if the situation got uglier, velvet ropes were put up to indicate queuing area and balloon give-away session were scheduled.

If M.A.C is reading this entry, thanks for the opportunity...for two years in a row!
