Super Junior's "Sorry Sorry" Ala Moe

I was hosting 8TV Nite Live alongside Mr. Mike Campton, and there was one chatter who requested to see me dance to one of the k-pop band's song.

On the show last night during the K-Pop segment, we aired Super Junior's amazing and sleek dance choreography.

But when i tried to mimic them, i look dorky.
Best yet, Mike captured the moment of me fooling around during commercial break and post it on twitter.

The SHOUT! Awards Press Conference.

Yesterday, The Pagi show (Phat Fabes, Ben and Nadia) Amrita the Producer, Hafiz,Hunny Madu and I went to the Press Conference for the very first SHOUT! Awards.

It's basically this new award show that recognizes the best of the best in Radio, TV shows and of course the local music industry. One category off the top of my hat wearing head was the Coolest Radio Announcer Award which included Fara Fauzana, Phat Fabes, JJ, Rudy, Hunny Madu as nominees and off course they had a interesting category known as the works which included Hot Guy and Hot Chick Award. One of the nominees for Hot chick was Marion Counter. They also had an award for Best radio Show and Fly Fm's Pagi Show, Fly Fm's Night Flight, Fly Fm's Must Have (with Hunny Madu), Indie X and the Hot Fm's Am Krew were among those chosen as the final nominees.

Almost all the Nominees were there and I got to meet Maya Karin for the first time (but my phone's battery had died so no pictures)...and I'd have to say she looks way better in person.

But I got picture of Nas and his wife Sheahnee Lee from the Breakfast show and I cam-whoring.

The funny thing is that we never realised there was so much space left so we huddled together.
Now we got Couple who performed...

As well Jaclyn Victor and I were hat buddie for one whole day...
While we were waiting I decided to take pictures of the Pagi Show(Amrita, Phat Fabes and Nadia... not sure where Ben disappeared to) who were seated next to me...
And seated across the little Fashion Show like stage was Estranged and Adflin Shauki (the dude in a suit all the way to the right)
And here is Estranged (from the left Din, Andy, Rich and Hanafi) just hanging out after they finish eating and I was just going around snapping away :)

TOMOK: Winner of OIAM Season 3

Personally i like Weera. But i gotto say that Tomok really is the icing that tops the OIAM 3 cake.

Every week, he brought something new. Just to recap on his element of surprises:

1. He performed Beyonce's Crazy In Love and made it sound like his.
2. Performed Meet Uncle Hussein's breakout song and made it his own-- slow then changed into rock in mid-tempo.
3. He was the first contestant to sang the jury's song (Syafinaz's Ingin Bersama Mu...talk about barking up the right tree).
4. When he was getting predictable with singing female artist's song, he twirled his mic mid song when singing Rihanna's "Umbrella".

Although tonight's performance of Aizat's song was so-so, he bounced back during the second performance. But the element of surprise for finale from Tomok? He flexed his 'fashion-savvy' muscles. That maroon military-inspired jacket that looks like a cross between German Nazis and Buckingham Palace Guards without the tall bushy hat, is actually very in fashion now! Iz who is known for his fashion forwardness wore that when he performed at One Utama's Fashion on 1 Gala Party.

Tomok: Creative artist who defied everyone's perception of Tomok New Boyz. *Clap Clap*. He is a deserving winner.

And by the way, DJ Prem did an awesome job emceeing such a big event!!! :)

PREDICTION: Marketing execs drawing up endorsement proposals to get Tomok as their spokesperson :)

8TV One In A Million Final Three Contestants

OIAM 3 Finalists: Tomok, Esther, and Aweera.

I have to say this season for 8TV's One In A Million, the line up of contestants are a lot more awe-inspiring and electrifying and any other words that could describe just totally awesome. For Example we have Tomok ( on the left of picture) who was once a popular pop star with an extremely nasal singing style which i honeslty hated and now he is all grown up with a new fashion sense and when he sings properly he actually has a powerful grungy-edged voice!

Then we have Esther the only chick left who has a voice that is worthy of super stardom and we have my favorite Aweera. I mean this dude blew me away with his rendition of Enter Sandman by Metallica, a total rocker in and out, pure with no hint of wanting to mesh any other genre, rock in it's truest form. That and all the girls love him cause he got a nice body (yes, i see how you girls look at him).

Oh well they visited Fly Fm for an interview and of course i got a chance to meet them in person and there all actually very down to earth. If they didn't have there faces posted all over Malaysia I'd say they be just your average dudes and gal... but with ass whooping voices

So who will take home the RM1 Million prize? Take Moe Nasrul's poll here:

Brink Of Law

Yesterday Tsu Ann from 8tv had given me a call 10am in the morning and asked if i was free to do a voice over. I was more than happy to do it and when i arrived at the studio, which is only a couple of floors up from Fly Fm's studio i was briefed about my latest project.

I found out it's for a TV commercial for a show called Brink Of Law, a chinese series on 8TV. It was a real blast recording it because i tried different versions of the script and played around with my voice. Eventually, they went with the more 'hyper-active moe' version. Honesly i thought it would have been cool if they went with a more Preview Guy/Don Lafontaine approach but i guess they needed the youthful element as 8TV is targeted to the urban youth crowd.

Nonetheless here it is for your viewing pleasure. Leave a comment and tell me what you think :D

TVC: Who Wants To Be A Superhero?

I have done a whole lot of voice overs and every now an then i do get my voice put on a TV commercial. Here is one TV commercial i did for a show called "Who Wants To Be A Superhero" on 8TV in late 2008.

The cool thing about this VO was i got to play with the Mic settings to make my voice extra bassey, cause i wanted that Don Lafontaine/Preview guy growl tone :D i think it really fit with the visuals.

Do you think i nailed it?

OIAM 3

Photo is taken from Moe Nasrul's personal collection.

My girl, her twin, Alex and girlfriend came all the way down from Penang to watch 8TV's One In A Million (OIAM) Season 3 live in Sri Pentas 2, Plaza Alam Sentral just last friday.

I wasn't feeling really well (was having awful fever) but since my girl was in town and her gang wanted to watch OIAM live, and since i didn't have the pass, i had to basically gatecrashed the show by asking one of the 8TV crews to grant me and my troops entry.

It wasn't that hard to get it last year. Emily and i went practically every week last season to support my cousin Iz. Not even once Emily was asked to show her pass. Mine was a different story. I was on duty as a Fly FM Trooper. Troopers had to give freebies and conduct games during commercial breaks.

But this time, the show has a big surge of audience, mostly supporting Rizu, Tomok, Amylea, and Fify. We were asked to sit at Simon's area (he doesn't have that many supporters).

It was my first time watching OIAM 3. After the show, i was convinced that this is by far the best season ever. Watching Esther live in the studio with industrial-grade sound systems is different than on TV. You missed out a lot on her vocal range. Rizu's voice was big and his falsetto is flawless. He is AWFULLY small. And Esther isn't that big a girl. In fact, she is just nice.

Tomok just plain oozing stage presence. I cannot believe that it is the same Tomok from the annoying New Boys. Amylea's voice actually has more power than i hear on YouTube. Simon...well, he just lacks the X-factor but he has good voice.

The competition is really tough as all of the contestants have to show their creativity in making their chosen songs originally theirs.

Based on the show i watched last week, here is my prediction:

1. Tomok
2. Esther
3. Amylea

This three is going to be in the finals.

Next to be eliminated:
1. Simon (this week)
2. Nine (next week)
3. Aweera (next next week)
4. Rizu (next next next week)
Oh hey! Tomok FC Official T-shirt spotted!
